Pesto and Ham Puff Pastry Rolls

Everyone needs a quick fix when it comes to serving an appetizer for (unannounced) guests. Don’t get me wrong, I love to host whenever guests come over but there’s gotta be an ace you can pull out your sleeve spontaneously.

So these Pesto and Ham Puff Pastry Rolls are what you need. They’re incridibly tasty and done in 15 minutes. And you only need 4 ingredients!

Ingredients:

  • 1 rectangular store-bought puff pastry dough
  • 1 jar of green or red pesto, I always do both because they taste so differently and I love them both. In that case you’ll need two puff pastry doughs
  • 1 package of ham
  • 1 egg yolk, whisked

How to make the Pesto and Ham Puff Pastry Rolls:

Preheat your oven to 220 degrees celsius.
Roll up the puff pastry and spread with a layer of red or green pesto. Place the slices of ham in a single layer on the puff pastry so that the pastry it is completely covered with ham. Roll the puff pastry into a long roll and cut it into pieces of about 2cm, so that it forms snail-shaped pieces. Place the pieces on an oven dish lined with baking paper and brush with the egg yolk. Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
